Meg Hogan Scott

Lead Program Facilitator, HeartMath® Master Trainer
Founder of Build Resilience

A 40-year business entrepreneur, Meg Hogan Scott became a certified HeartMath® Trainer and Coach/Mentor in 2016 and founded Build Resilience.

Building personal resilience and increasing our level of coherence are teachable skills that can be highly effective in navigating change, challenge and adversity in the heat of the moment or when we need to be our best. We can often find ourselves feeling overwhelmed, anxious, annoyed, underappreciated, and fatigued. We may find we regret the way we respond to people or situations. The state of stress, how we respond to stressors, is very toxic and can be the root cause of most physical, mental, and emotional dis-ease.

HeartMath is a system of simple, evidence-based, user-friendly techniques that can be practiced anytime, anywhere, to reduce feelings of anxiety, overwhelm and fatigue in the moment. Meaningful and measurable physiological changes take place when practicing the techniques which enable us to make better choices and more competently manage stressful situations, while significantly enhancing our mental, physical and emotional health.

Meg has been sharing HeartMath tools and techniques with Red Tent Women’s Initiative participants in the Pinellas County Jail since 2017. In 2020, Meg began work with the Red Tent team to integrate HeartMath® tools and techniques into the trauma-informed program, creating an experiential learning curriculum. She is currently the Lead Facilitator and Trainer for Red Tent Trauma-Informed programs in Pinellas and Hillsborough County Jails and the Project Redirect diversion program in Pinellas County.

As a HeartMath Master Trainer, Mentor and Trauma-Sensitive Practitioner, I am in service and support of those suffering mental and emotional trauma and elevated levels of stress. The tools and techniques I share have transformed my life experience and continue to serve me daily. I’m deeply grateful for the opportunity to share HeartMath skills in the context of trauma-informed care to the women of Red Tent.

Meg is a Certified HeartMath® Trainer, Certified HeartMath® Coach/Mentor, Certified HeartMath® Activating the Heart of Teams Facilitator, Certified Resilient Heart Trauma-Sensitive Practitioner and HeartMath® Master Trainer.
